Patna, Sept. 3 -- BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday expressed serious concern over the worsening flood situation in Patna district following continuous rainfall and the rising water level of the Ganga and directed officials to intensify relief and rescue operations in affected areas.

Prasad spoke over the phone with the Patna District Magistrate and the Sub-Divisional Magistrates of Patna City and Barh to take a detailed assessment of the situation. He sought information on the current flood conditions in the district, the rising water level and the relief and rescue measures being undertaken by the administration.
