Mumbai, Sept. 15 -- BJP state chief spokesperson Navnath Ban on Tuesday alleged that Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut was pleased over Aditya Thackeray facing legal proceedings in the Disha Salian case and claimed that Raut wanted to take control of the Uddhav Thackeray-led party.

Speaking at a press conference at the BJP state office, Ban said a case had been registered against Aditya Thackeray following a court order after Disha Salian's father approached the court.

"There is no political conspiracy in this. On one hand, Sanjay Raut says that the police had filed a closure report when the Mahayuti government was in power, while on the other hand he alleges that the case was registered as part of a political conspiracy," Ban said.
