Ranchi, Oct. 27 -- The Ranchi district administration has suspended classes from kindergarten to Class 12 in all government, aided and private schools on October 28 and 29 in view of a warning of heavy rain and strong winds.
The order covers all government and government-aided schools, including minority institutions, as well as private schools across Ranchi district. It was issued under Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, according to a district administration press release.
The India Meteorological Centre, Jharkhand, Ranchi, has forecast heavy rainfall in several districts of the state. Ranchi has been placed in the orange category, with the possibility of torrential rain accompanied by strong winds, the release said.
