New Delhi, March 29 -- Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Sunday said he had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, then Gujarat chief minister, in June 2010, urging conservation measures to revive the Great Indian Bustard (GIB) population in the grasslands of Kutch.
He added that the credit for protecting the endangered species is now being attributed to the Prime Minister's vision.
Sharing an excerpt from his book 'Green Signal' that contained a copy of the letter, the senior Congress leader wrote on X, "As usual, all credit is being given to the PM for the initiative to protect the Great Indian Bustard in Gujarat.
