Hyderabad, Aug. 21 -- BJP Telangana State President N Ramchander Rao has demanded immediate refund of excess fees allegedly collected by private medical colleges from MBBS students admitted through NEET and called for stringent action against institutions violating fee regulations.
Talking to the media at state party office, Namapally on Friday. Ramchander Rao alleged that while the Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC) had prescribed payment of fees for the four-and-a-half-year MBBS course in five instalments, some private colleges had collected the entire fee for five years upfront. This, he said, had placed an additional financial burden of around Rs 13 lakh to Rs 20 lakh on each student's family.
