Mumbai, July 18 -- Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Advocate Ashish Shelar today alleged that the Ram Raksha agitation proposed by opposition Shiv Sena (UBT) was a 'politically motivated' exercise aimed at diverting Hindus from completing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voter registration process.
Addressing reporters here, Shelar claimed that while Hindus were being drawn into the agitation, members of a particular community were allegedly being encouraged to complete their SIR registration.
"There appears to be a deliberate conspiracy to keep Hindus away from the voter registration process by engaging them in this agitation," he alleged.
