Ranchi, March 27 -- Large crowds of devotees took part in Ram Navami processions across Ranchi on Friday, with akhara groups moving in an organised manner through major routes of the city.
Carrying Mahavir flags, the processions passed through key localities before proceeding towards the historic Tapovan temple. Participants were seen performing traditional martial displays and devotional acts along the route.
Several religious and social organisations set up welcome camps to greet devotees and distribute refreshments.
The Chandrashekhar Azad Durga Puja Samiti also organised a welcome camp, where drinking water, chana, jaggery and other food items were distributed among devotees. Its president Ramesh Singh was also present.
