New Delhi, June 11 -- The Supreme Court on Thursday agreed to hear a writ petition filed by Congress leader Meenakshi Natarajan on Friday, challenging the rejection of her candidature for the Rajya Sabha elections from Madhya Pradesh.
A bench of Justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and A S Chandurkar agreed to list the matter for hearing on Friday after Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi sought urgent listing.
Singhvi requested that the plea be taken up on Thursday or Friday, noting that Thursday was the last day for withdrawal of nominations. He also urged the Court to pass an interim order restraining the declaration of results.
