Shimla, March 25 -- The election of Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Anurag Sharma from Himachal Pradesh has been challenged before the Himachal Pradesh High Court through a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by advocate Vinay Sharma.

The petition came up for hearing before a Division Bench comprising Chief Justice G.S. Sandhawalia and Justice B.C. Negi. The court has issued notices to the Election Commission of India, the union Government, the Himachal Pradesh Government, the Returning Officer, and Anurag Sharma, directing them to file their replies by May 21.
