Siliguri, March 7 -- Darjeeling MP Raju Bista on Saturday alleged that the West Bengal administration had "humiliated" President Droupadi Murmu by failing to extend proper cooperation and arrangements during her visit to Siliguri.

Addressing mediapersons at the Siliguri Journalists' Club, Bista, accompanied by Phansidewa MLA Durga Murmu, termed the incident unfortunate and accused the state administration of deliberately undermining the programme.

Bista alleged that officials did not make arrangements to receive the President as per protocol and claimed this was done following directions from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
