New Delhi, May 15 -- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu today laid foundation stones and inaugurated a series of major aerospace and defence projects in Puttaparthi, with the Centre describing the initiatives as a major boost to indigenous defence manufacturing and military preparedness.
The projects include a Core Integration and Flight Testing Centre to accelerate development of the fifth-generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) and other future indigenous platforms, as well as a Naval Systems Manufacturing Facility in Anakapalli district to support advanced underwater weapons and naval combat systems.
