Rajiv remembered on his 35th death anniversary, Cong leaders pay tributes

Chennai, May 21 -- Floral tributes were paid to Former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 35th death anniversary across Tamil Nadu on Thursday.

It was on this day in May 1991, Rajiv was felled by a suicide bomber during an election rally at Sripeumbudur, about 40 km from here.

Tne TNCC organised various solemn events to mark the occasion. After top leaders, including Congress TN in-charge Girish Chodankar and AICC leaders, besides TNCC PresidentK Selvaperunthagai, Legislature Party Leader S Rajesh Kumar, and state office-bearers paid floral tributes to a portrait of Rajiv Gandhi at the Party office Sathiyamoorthy Bhavan in the city and administered the anti-terrorism pledge to the party cadres, they then proceeded to the Saidapet-Chinnama...
