Jaipur, June 22 -- The BJP led Rajasthan government will soon legislate on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), anncounced State Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Joga Ram Patel today.
Minister Patel along with Minister of State (MoS) Home Jawahar Singh Bedam said here that the process has already been initiated.
A 5-member committee, headed by a retired Supreme Court judge Justice Ranjan Desai, has been constituted. The committee would study legislations passed or mooted by different states on this issue and would draft a most suitable Bill for passage in the Rajasthan assembly.
