Satish Kumar SharmaJaipur, Sept. 14 -- The ruling BJP in Rajasthan has mustered absolute majority in four of the ten municipal corporations of Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur and Bhilwara that went to polls last week. The Congress has won more than half the seats in the Bikaner Municipal Corporation while Independents emerged as the largest group by capturing 38 seats in the 65-member Bharatpur Municipal Corporation, exceeding the majority mark by five seats.

In the 100-member Jodhpur Municipal Corporation the two arch rivals - the BJP and the Congress -- finished at a tie winning 44 seats each, with the result of only one seat due to be declared.
