Mumbai, July 21 -- Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray on Tuesday extended support to the ongoing students' agitation and launched a scathing attack on the Centre over the alleged forcible hospitalisation of activist Sonam Wangchuk and the police action against protesters.

In a strongly worded post on X, Thackeray alleged that the manner in which Wangchuk was taken to hospital exposed the government's "real intent", questioning its claim that he was hospitalised out of concern for his health.

He also condemned the alleged "indiscriminate lathi-charge" on protesting students, saying the government appeared more interested in crushing dissent than addressing legitimate grievances.
