Jaipur, Sept. 3 -- Amid controversy on certain allegations of irregularities levelled by a sitting judge of Supreme Court Justice Sandeep Mehta, the Rajasthan High Court's Acting Chief Justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma has submitted his response to the Chief Justice of India Surya Kant rebutting all with "proper evidence".
"I have submitted my position to the Chief Justice of India (CJI) with proper evidences. The allegations by the honourable judge of the Supreme Court are false and baseless, I have refutted them," the acting CJ said in a statement here on Wednesday evening.
These were meant to tarnish his image and spoiling opportunity of a possible elevation in his position, Justice Sharma observed.
