New Delhi, Sept. 11 -- Delhi witnessed spells of heavy rain and gusty winds on Friday, with dark clouds covering the capital as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) kept a red alert in force till 5 pm.
Several parts of central and north Delhi, including areas around Parliament Street and Bharat Mandapam, recorded light to moderate rainfall during the day. The weather conditions also affected movement on roads in parts of the city, with the IMD warning of possible traffic disruptions and strong winds.
In its afternoon update, the weather office said some areas could receive rainfall of up to 15 mm per hour, while isolated pockets may experience heavier spells exceeding 15 mm per hour over the following hours.
