Chandigarh, May 12 -- Large parts of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh witnessed a sharp change in weather conditions on Tuesday, with rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds bringing relief from rising temperatures, while the Meteorological Department issued orange alerts for several districts over the next few days.
In Haryana, heavy morning showers were reported in Panchkula, Yamunanagar, and Karnal, while cloudy conditions prevailed in parts of Panipat and Sonipat, with more rainfall likely during the day. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for Mahendragarh, Jhajjar, Rohtak, Rewari, Palwal, and Nuh, warning of strong winds at 60 to 70 kmph.
