Panchkula, Aug. 2 -- To resolve the long wait faced by seasoned staff, the Ministry of Railways has introduced a policy granting non-gazetted employees with over 20 years of service top priority for their own-request transfers.

The Railway Board said it is introducing a priority category while keeping the current transfer process intact for others.

The Railway Board explained that this decision comes after employees have been waiting for years for their own-request transfers, despite their long and dedicated service.

Currently, transfer applications are sorted by category and handled in order of registration after securing a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Accepting Unit.
