Panchkula, July 25 -- In a move to support athletes, the Ministry of Railways has updated luggage rules. Now, oversized and delicate sports gear such as javelins can travel safely in the luggage vans of passenger trains. The Railway Board has directed all railway zones to give priority to these items whenever possible, provided the necessary freight charges are paid.
This decision aims to solve the difficulties athletes encounter when transporting sports equipment that is too large for standard luggage. With the new rules, javelins and other bulky gear can be booked in the luggage compartments of SLRs, SLRDs, and LWLRRMs, as long as there is space.
