Panchkula, July 22 -- The Railway Board has clarified that railway pensioners, family pensioners, and other eligible beneficiaries holding a valid UMID card should receive treatment in accordance with the existing Railway healthcare policy and has asked all Zonal Railways to ensure uniform implementation of the instructions already issued by the Board.
The clarification has come in response to representations made by the All India Railwaymen's Federation (AIRF) regarding difficulties being faced by pensioners in availing treatment at empanelled hospitals.
