Bengaluru, Aug. 24 -- The Congress' stand on industrialist Gautam Adani came under renewed attack in Karnataka on Monday, with Leader of Opposition R Ashoka accusing Chief Minister DK Shivakumar of rolling out the "red carpet" for the industrialist despite Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's repeated criticism of the Adani Group.

Ashoka's attack followed Adani's meeting with Shivakumar at the Chief Minister's residence amid the industrial group's bid for the Bengaluru tunnel road project, turning the meeting into a fresh political flashpoint.

"Rahul Gandhi calls Adani a BJP agent, but D.K. Shivakumar has rolled out the red carpet for Adani," Ashoka said, questioning the Congress' "double standards".
