Raiganj, April 14 -- Turning emotional, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday remembered late party stalwart Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi in the latter's hometurf while addressing a West Bengal Assembly poll rally.
Dasmunsi, who served as union minister and was considered one of the most popular Congress leaders in West Bengal, died on November 20, 2017 after being in coma for nine years.
"Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi was the tallest Congress leader in West Bengal. Sadly, he is no longer among us. Had he been alive, he could have transformed the political landscape of Bengal-he might even have been the Chief Minister today," Gandhi said wistfully while wrapping up his address.
