New Delhi, July 29 -- A fierce political confrontation erupted in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday after Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi used the word "idiots" during the debate on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.

The remark prompted strong objections from the Treasury benches, demands that it be expunged from the record, and repeated interventions by the Chair before the House was adjourned until 2:30 pm.
