Mumbai, July 26 -- Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal has claimed that Rahul Gandhi was the first leader to demand the resignation of then union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak controversy.
Speaking after Pradhan's resignation following weeks of protests and a prolonged hunger strike by activist Sonam Wangchuk, Sapkal said the demand for Pradhan's resignation was first raised by the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi.
He claimed that the youth and the opposition coming together had forced the government to bow to public pressure. The arrogance of the government was crushed by the nationwide protests, Sapkal said.
