Hyderabad, July 23 -- Telangana Irrigation and Food & Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Thursday alleged that the BJP-led Central government had failed to address the aspirations and concerns of the country's youth, leading to a growing disconnect between the government and young people.
In a press statement, Uttam Kumar said rising unemployment, repeated examination paper leaks, uncertainty over students' futures and lack of adequate opportunities had created widespread frustration among the youth.
He alleged that instead of addressing these concerns, the Centre was suppressing peaceful protests by students and youth through arrests and intimidation, which he said was against democratic values and the Constitution.
