New Delhi, May 29 -- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday escalated his criticism of the Centre regarding alleged irregularities in the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) On-Screen Marking (OSM) contract. He accused officials of systematically lowering tender criteria to benefit a private company despite warnings about its inefficiency.
In a pointed social media post on platform X, Gandhi, who is also the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, questioned how the contract was granted to Coempt. He claimed the tender requirements were progressively diluted until COEMPT qualified to handle the evaluation of millions of CBSE exam answer sheets.
