Manoj BhadraLucknow, July 31 -- Political parties in Uttar Pradesh have begun intensifying their outreach to the Dalit vote bank as they gear up for the 2027 Assembly elections.

The two major Dalit-based political parties -- Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Azad Samaj Party led by MP Chandrashekhar Azad -- have already launched their poll preparation by setting up assembly in-charges, who would ultimately become the party's candidates in the assembly polls.

On the other hand, the ruling BJP, which is going for the third term, has already announced several programmes till September to celebrate the 650th birth anniversary of Guru Sant Ravidas, a foundational icon of spiritual and social equality for Dalits.
