Bhubaneswar, July 24 -- A 57-year-old devotee died and several others fell ill following a sudden crowd surge that caused suffocation during the pulling of Devi Subhadra's chariot in Puri's Grand Road during the Bahuda Yatra on Friday.
The devotee was rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital, where he succumbed during treatment, officials said. Several others affected in the incident are undergoing treatment.
