Chandigarh, March 11 -- A Punjabi NRI couple living in the United States lost their lives after their taxi hit a stationary truck early Wednesday morning on the Delhi-Amritsar National Highway.
The deceased, identified as 63-year-old Ranjit Singh Sandhu and his 61-year-old wife Satinder Kaur, were heading to their native village, Margindpura in Tarn Taran, after landing at the Delhi airport.
The collision occurred around 5:40 am near a petrol pump on the Rohtak bypass in Panipat, where a truck was reportedly parked in the middle lane of the highway.
