Chandigarh, June 26 -- The Punjab government has announced the restoration of regular working hours for all government offices from July 1, ending the temporary summer schedule introduced earlier due to severe heatwave conditions.
According to an official notification issued by the Punjab General Administration Department, all government offices in the state will function from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with effect from July 1, 2026.
The state government had earlier revised office timings from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm between May 25 and June 30, 2026, as a precautionary measure to minimise the impact of extreme heat and safeguard employees from prolonged exposure during peak daytime temperatures.
