Chandigarh, Sept. 16 -- Punjab Police have arrested four people and seized 27 kg of heroin and a foreign-made pistol after breaking up an alleged cross-border narcotics and arms smuggling module, the state's Director General of Police said on Wednesday.

The operation was carried out by Counter Intelligence, Amritsar, which also recovered three cartridges along with a sophisticated foreign-made .30-bore PX5 pistol, DGP Gaurav Yadav said in a post on X.

"In a major breakthrough against narcotics and illegal arms smuggling, Counter Intelligence, Amritsar foiled a cross-border smuggling module and apprehended four accused," Yadav said.
