Chandigarh, June 8 -- Punjab Police on Tuesday intensified its ongoing crackdown against organised crime by carrying out 469 raids across the state as part of its anti-gangster campaign, leading to the detention of hundreds of suspects and the arrest of several wanted individuals.

The operation was conducted under the state-wide "Gangstran Te Vaar" initiative, launched earlier this year to dismantle gangster networks and their support systems. Police teams from district units, working in coordination with the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), simultaneously raided locations identified through intelligence inputs and criminal mapping exercises.
