Chandigarh, June 10 -- : Punjab Police on Wednesday carried out 557 raids across the state as part of its ongoing anti-gangster campaign, leading to the arrest of 303 individuals and the recovery of two weapons, officials said.
The large-scale operation was conducted under the state-wide "Gangstran Te Vaar" initiative, a special drive launched on January 20, 2026, to dismantle gangster networks and curb organised crime in Punjab. The campaign, spearheaded by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, is being executed jointly by district police units and the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF).
