Chandigarh, July 21 -- A fresh legal battle over controversial remarks made by Punjab Leader of Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa is set to unfold on Tuesday in the Punjab and Haryana High Court where the senior Congress leader has challenged the criminal case registered against him over his claims relating to alleged bomb threats in the state.
Bajwa has asked the High Court to set aside the FIR lodged by the Punjab Police, arguing that the prosecution lacks legal merit and should not be allowed to continue. The petition will also test the continuation of the interim protection from arrest that the court granted him during the previous hearing.
