Panchkula, Oct. 9 -- The narcotics pipeline fuelling Panchkula has a clear and dominant source, police data has starkly revealed: of the 179 drug traffickers arrested in 102 cases this year, a staggering 71 operate out of Punjab, exposing a relentless cross-border supply chain that has turned the Tricity into a major consumption and transit hub.
In a crushing offensive led by Police Commissioner Pankaj Nain, Panchkula Police has not only arrested 71 Punjab-based peddlers but also nabbed 106 others from Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Uttarakhand, besides two foreign nationals, dismantling inter-state and transnational cartels that had entrenched themselves in the region.
