Chandigarh, July 31 -- A Punjab-based bullion trader was allegedly attacked and robbed of gold worth nearly Rs 3 crore while he was travelling to Haryana's Yamunanagar district with his son, triggering a police investigation into a possible planned robbery.

The victim, identified as Jaipal Singh from Amritsar, was carrying around two kilograms of raw gold meant for jewellery dealers in Yamunanagar and Jagadhri when two unidentified men on a motorcycle intercepted his vehicle near the Bhambholi area.
