Neeraj BaliChandigarh, July 14 -- Punjab BJP state secretary Renu Kashyap has landed in controversy after a video went viral on social media purportedly showing her in which she asked party workers to use the ongoing voter revision drive to remove 20,000 to 25,000 names from electoral rolls.
The video is reportedly from a closed-door BJP meeting held in Dinanagar on July 2 and was allegedly recorded by a party worker. Opposition leaders have since circulated the clip widely on WhatsApp and other social media platformsThe row comes at a time when the state is conducting a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) drive, which started on June 25 with booth-level officers verifying voter lists door-to-door.
