Chandigarh, Aug. 25 -- Punjab government employees and pensioners are set to intensify their protest over pending Dearness Allowance dues on August 27, with the BJP throwing its weight behind their call for a statewide "Maha Strike" against the Bhagwant Mann government.
The protest will include mass casual leave by employees, according to the BJP, which accused the Aam Aadmi Party government of withholding dues despite court orders in favour of the employees and pensioners.
Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon said the issue had moved beyond a dispute over government finances.
