Chandigarh, April 4 -- Punjab Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anindita Mitra announced today that the state is fully prepared to commence the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
While the official schedule from the Election Commission of India (ECI) is still awaited, the state has already made significant strides in preparatory activities.
A key highlight of this progress is the successful mapping of over 74 percent of the state's electors during the pre-SIR exercise.
As of 8:00 AM on April 4, out of a total of 2,14,57,521 electors in Punjab, 1,59,36,941 have already been mapped with previous intensive revision records, marking a 74.27 percent completion rate across the state.
