Chandigarh, Oct. 22 -- Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Anindita Mitra today held a meeting with representatives of political parties to brief them on the schedule for the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Photo Electoral Rolls, with January 1, 2027, as the qualifying date.
The meeting, chaired by Mitra, a senior IAS officer, focused on the forthcoming revision exercise aimed at updating the state's electoral rolls ahead of 2027.
The revision process provides an opportunity for eligible citizens to register as voters, existing electors to seek corrections in their particulars and electoral authorities to update entries in accordance with the prescribed rules.
