Chandigarh, April 11 -- A major controversy has erupted within the Jalandhar Rural Police after a CCTV clip surfaced, allegedly showing officers planting evidence to frame a resident in a fabricated liquor recovery case.
The footage, which has since gone viral, captures police personnel arriving in a private vehicle and unloading a blue drum purportedly containing illicit liquor before "recovering" it from a house in village Daulatpur Dhadda. In the wake of these revelations, SSP (Rural) Harvinder Singh Virk has ordered the immediate transfer of SHO Balwinder Singh, ASI Sukhwinder Singh, and Lady Constable Hevanpreet Kaur to police lines.
