Barnala/Sangrur, March 25 -- Dhanaula SHO Lakhbir Singh has been suspended by the police department after serious allegations were levelled against him following an incident in Rajgarh village of Barnala.
During a dispute over street construction, the SHO allegedly used abusive and obscene language toward women at the scene. Distressed by the incident, a local youth, Manjinder Singh, reportedly attempted suicide by consuming a poisonous substance.
Following this incident, the SHO has been suspended by the police department.
Congress MLA Kuldeep Singh Kala Dhillon, after interacting with the affected women, questioned why no FIR (first information report) has been registered against the SHO despite the incident being captured on CCTV.
