Punjab, Haryana inching towards resolution of decades-old SYL dispute, SC told
Parmod KumarNew Delhi, Aug. 12 -- The Supreme Court was informed on Wednesday that Punjab and Haryana were moving closer towards an amicable resolution of their decades-old dispute over the sharing of Ravi-Beas waters and construction of the Punjab stretch of the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) Canal, with the Centre telling the Court that the two States were now speaking in a "joint voice" and Punjab had shown greater willingness to resolve the dispute by opening "their heart much more than what they were talking last time."Attorney General R Venkataramani apprised a Bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana of the progress made in the talks between the two States and indicated that they were moving towards ...
