Pune, Sept. 2 -- The growing controversy over excessive noise pollution during Pune's historic Ganesh festival has now reached the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), with a city resident filing a formal complaint against the increasing use of high-volume DJs and loudspeakers.
Sharad Kelkar, a resident of the Deccan Gymkhana area, has approached the NHRC over the alleged rise in noise pollution in Pune, particularly during public celebrations and processions.
The complaint reportedly highlights the impact of excessive sound levels on the health, peace and well-being of citizens.
