Visakhapatnam, Sept. 22 -- GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg on Tuesday urged people to remain alert as heavy rains lashed Visakhapatnam and moderate to heavy rainfall is expected to continue over the next two days.
The Commissioner directed officials and staff of all GVMC departments and zonal offices to remain fully prepared to deal with any emergency and asked Zonal Commissioners to maintain special vigil in low-lying, flood-prone and vulnerable areas.
Rapid Response Teams have been kept ready in all zones, with adequate manpower, vehicles, JCBs, water suction machines and other equipment being made available.
