Imphal, Aug. 24 -- Public transport services on the Imphal-Dimapur-Guwahati route via National Highway-2 continued for the third consecutive day on Monday, with more than 250 passengers travelling from Imphal amid tight security arrangements.

A fleet of five buses and seven Winger vehicles carrying passengers, including women and children, left Imphal for Dimapur and Guwahati around 1 pm after their departure was briefly delayed following an incident reported at Taphou village in Senapati district.

According to the Manipur Chief Minister's Secretariat, timely intervention by the government and public support helped prevent the situation from escalating. The two sides involved have also agreed to maintain peace in the area.
