Lucknow, July 22 -- The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (UP Board) has sent a proposal to the state government to increase the limit for direct admissions for students from other education boards and other states in Classes 10 and 12 in its affiliated schools from 10 to 20.

This proposal was prepared following discussions at a recent workshop held at the Board headquarters. Principals of government, aided, and private schools at the workshop stressed the need for changes to the current system.

Currently, under a government order dated July 20, 2010, schools affiliated with the UP Board can only admit a maximum of 10 outstation students directly in Classes 10 and 12. However, principals say the current limit is no longer suffici...
