Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 23 -- Former ISRO Chairman Dr G Madhavan Nair has cautioned against excessive privatisation of India's space sector, asserting that private companies cannot replace the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and describing any move to hand over the management and operation of launch centres to private players as a "foolish" decision.
In an interview with a news channel, Nair strongly opposed proposals to entrust the management and operation of launch centres to private companies and questioned the manner in which private participation was being expanded in the country's space programme.
