Agartala, July 31 -- Police have apprehended the main suspect in a minor kidnapping case registered at Sonamura Police Station under Tripura's Sepahijala district following nearly 18 months on the run.
The suspect was presented to a local court and has been remanded to 14 days in judicial custody. According to police, the case dates back to February 2024, when a complaint was filed alleging that the suspect, with assistance from several family members, kidnapped a minor girl from the Sonamura subdivision and took her to Udaipur.
As the investigation unfolded, police arrested several of the suspect's relatives for their alleged involvement in the incident.
